Remember when you said you had a soul I found you eating colours Eyes like clouds When they rain You just kept on eating colours Nothing as painful as Trying too know you Who you are beyond your struggles I find you eating colours Tell me the truth Its cheaper than madness Youre stuffing yourself with y colours Eyes like clouds When they rain Nothing as painful as Trying too know you You gaze you drift you return you don't know where you've been Nothing as painful as Trying too know you You forget to dance You forgot how to dance You don't know how to dance Remember when you said you had a soul I found you eating colours

Face The Sun 00:50
The way you touched me with your eyes without even knowing But your downness on life made me want to turn you around to face the sun You kicked down every social ladder thats why I could ever think of loving you But your downness on life made me want to turn you around to face the sun The way you paused as I kissed you goodbye By kiss stopped your lip from speak and you drove off without waving

Boy Man 03:34
He's holding To looking beautiful He holds on tight Don't ask his age he will be full of rage He grabs on to her beauty He pulls it back I give mine to my daughter Let that be that Take off your guilt Take off your vanity Take off our blame Take off your need to talk yourself up He holds on To looking beautiful He holds on tight He does his all Don't ask his age Fill him with rage He grabs on to her beauty He pulls it back I give mine to my daughter Let that be that

Avenue Foch 01:45
We were both walking along Avenue Foch One foot of snow Im with my dog The dog you said you loved We are walking towards each other The are behind me infant of you I know youre full of beer You have your suitcase You said you hated being. A business man But you do 14 anyway You said now youre sister died at 40 you'd change direction but you stayd the same Anxiety pills a diet that took you around the world You would have lied to me a dozen times Lied as you had to your wife I recall when she called me Did she know you never let me know she existed Tucked away in a far away place Raising your kids Whilst you said you were Making money She was breathless and I dint know what to say Its the stealing of someones time Stealing her r love life Stealing of her time Time you dont get back I wasn't really there like you weren't really there Two caught in a strange city Too much pretensions Bound together By outsiderness You stranger you

You look like love You look like my love Your eyes your touch You look like love At the end of the day Theres no end Of the day At the end of the day Theres no end We'll be what the flowers bloom about why the sun returns why the sea rolls to the shore to gather You look like love Your eyes your touch You look like my love You took your time At the end of the day There is no end Of The day
6.
I haven't spent anytime physically alone in my life In family Then couple Then couple again Then as mother as a child And now empty nest I'm reflecting Im protective of my alone I want to be with you But feel alone Alone as in fully who I am Not shrinking my world not pouring your insecurities Into me Im not that vessel I want to say everything to each other Physically emotionally spiritually I'm not interested in another that's not pure Leave aside all the damage you have done to arrive Unclench I'm not here to pretend
7.
I won't let you go the memories the imprint the knowing the depth the intimacy the laughing the whispers the knowing the wisdom the creativity The intimacy the smiling the belly aching laughing the silliness I won't let you go Now it's all in her shes smiling she's knowing she's wise she's caring She; s us And its magical One hand gives The other one Pushes you neatly inside me I won't let you go Youre neatly inside You choreograph my insides

about

Paula Rae Gibson lives in the UK and works with photography, music, video and word to create an intimate, personal world that resonates deeply. She has worked with Goldfrapp's' Will Gregory, ECM’s Kit Downes and Rob Luft on albums Maybe Too Nude, Emotion Machine, and The Roles We Play To Disappear released by London indie/ jazz labels, Babel and Octoberhouse Records. Her photography has been made into two books, Diary of a Love Addict (Kehrer publishing) and Rae (Eyemazing Editions).

For 'I Found You Eating Colours,‘ she works with Alex Bonney, (electronic, trumpet) to create a piece evoking where she is currently emotionally. The longing and yearning has evaporated into feeling resolved, almost healed while the bonus track, Above, reflects back.

"The dark, dystopian vision of avant singer Paula Rae Gibson - a style that lands somewhere between the more out-there shores of the world of Kate Bush and the wild fever you hear on a PJ Harvey record - is a remarkable Beckettian sound" - www.marlbank.net

This album includes a bonus track as well as liner notes and photographs by Paula Rae Gibson.
